Mei Liu is a Chinese filmmaker and artist. She received her BFA in Film Production from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and is a MA candidate in Artistic Research at Netherlands Film Academy.

Her films focus on the underbellies of urban landscapes, people living on the margins, and the mystical realms of existence. Her films have been selected for Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, Rhode Island International Film Festival, and won Best Film at CUNY Asian American Film Festival and Jury Award at Long Distance Film Festival.

Mei hosts improvisational performance workshops in an attempt to reawaken our relationship to the material and immaterial world around us; while utilizing small cameras and new technologies to capture the fluid, mysterious forces of life.
